     Cricket provides a secure platform for hosting virtually any legal extranet application. Our hosting philosophy is to provide a flexible and extremely secure environment as the platform for hosting and collaboration.

Flexibility

     Most Application Service Providers (ASPs) require you to use their applications even if your users lack familiarity with (or respect for) the product. By contrast, Cricket serves your needs as a Neutral Service Provider (NSP), whereby you can choose almost any legal application for managing your data on line, allowing you the flexibility to use the right tool for your professionals’ document review. Our service is extremely secure, so you can rest assured that only authorized users can secure access to the sensitive data that will be stored on the site, and the data will be protected regardless of circumstances.

We currently support a number of hosted application software products, including
i-CONNECT (utilizing Concordance), Summation, Ringtail, DBTextworks, DocuShare, and others. Once we know more about your project, your firm, and your experience, we can make a recommendation about which software product to use for your project.

Security

     Cricket’s hosting service is also unusual in its high degree of technical and physical security. We use high-end (128-bit) encryption for the data and full auditing of any application access. This combination means that not only is the data protected technically, but we can actually monitor any access to the system and the data. We deploy only “hardened servers”, which essentially allows us to lock down the devices so that unauthorized uses cannot be performed, and we ensure that all appropriate patches and security updates are in place. We use best-of-breed firewall technology that provides additional security by placing a barrier between the hosted site and the communications infrastructure that connects the site to the outside world.

     Cricket has also taken exceptional measures to ensure that the physical system and site are protected. This includes limiting access to the facility to authorized personnel via the use of security systems and the presence of security guards on a 24/7 basis at the hosting facility. Further, CCTV monitoring provides an additional level of oversight and protection. The data center is also protected by dry chemical fire suppression systems to ensure minimal damage to sensitive equipment in the event of a fire.

For redundancy purposes, data backups are stored off-line in bonded and insured secure storage facilities. Access to actual devices in the data center requires two separate Cricket staff members, each with a different key, to provide an additional level of protection. One key opens only the equipment storage cabinets, while the second provides access to the devices themselves.

     Finally, we create an archive set of materials, generally on DVD media, to create a static, secure backup of the final product, to provide additional redundancy.

     In summary, our hosting environment provides a very secure platform for your data and applications. We have taken every reasonable measure to ensure that no physical or technical breaches will occur. Your confidential data are safe from unauthorized access and are available for your use around the clock.
